2006 Sunnyside Center GalaHonorary Committee: February 2006 The Sunnyside Center Board of Directors is proud to announce that we have chosen Sister Claudette Harris, CSJ Executive Director of Sunnyside Center as the honoree for this year’s gala. Sister Claudette is celebrating 50 years of religious service to the community, and 21 years of service as the Executive Director of Sunnyside Center in Troy. Dear Friend, Mark Your Calendars – April 1, 2006 is the date of Sunnyside’s annual gala. This year the event will be held at the Franklin Terrace Ballroom and we, The Sunnyside Center Board of Directors, would like to invite you to become a member of the Honorary Committee for this year’s “Caring is the Key” celebration. As a member of the Honorary Committee, you will receive entrance to the evening’s event and your name will be listed in the evening’s program. To become an Honorary Committee member, please purchase a gala ticket at the $75.00 level. Our annual gala is a vital source of revenue for the Center. Each year, the funds that are raised through this event are used to continue our mission of advocacy for youth, believing children are our MOST VALUABLE RESOURCE. By participating in the gala and the Honorary Committee, your generosity helps provide the programs and services that are vital to the education and well-being of so many children and families in our neighborhood. Silent Auction - Save the Date - April 1, 2006 Sunnyside Center Presents Its 81st Anniversary Celebration The Franklin Terrace Ballroom Dear Friend, If you are not already familiar with all of the wonderful things that Sunnyside Center does for our local community, I would like to take this opportunity to fill you in. Sunnyside Center, located in the heart of North Central Troy, serves impoverished and underprivileged families, specializing in caring for elementary school-aged children. We offer After School and Summer Programs, as well as Daycare services and Infant and Toddler Rooms. Sunnyside also runs a Food Pantry as an additional means of offering support to the families in our community. We tirelessly strive to improve the lives of the children who we serve, offering them a safe and nurturing environment that is a welcome alternative to the crime-ridden, drug-infested neighborhood that they live in. Our mission is not an easy one, and I am hoping that, in some way, your organization will be able to help. With the growing need for our programs, it has become increasingly difficult to accommodate all of the people who need our help. We are hoping that you will be able to help us continue Sunnyside's 80-year tradition of providing invaluable services to the community. To commemorate our 81 years of service to the community of Troy, Sunnyside will be holding a fundraiser to bring in revenue that will allow us to improve and expand our programs, and as part of this fundraiser, we will be raffling off gift certificates to various local businesses. As part of our 81st Anniversary Celebration, we will be compiling our annual Ad Booklet as a means of fundraising for our organization. Not only will placing an advertisement in our Ad Booklet gain recognition for your company and encourage the many people who support Sunnyside’s work to support your business, the cost of the ad will bring in valuable funds for our worthy cause.
